Filming Equipment

We used a Canon EO6 600D camera for all of our shots.

We used a GoPro camera for the underwater scenes.

When we wanted more controlled and still shots, we used a tripod.

How we conform to theorist's ideas

Tzvetan Todorov's Theory of Narrative 

Todorov is a franco-bulgarian philosopher. He studied fairy tales to come up with the following theory:

1. Equilibruim-A state of normality 
2. Disruption-An event that disrupts the normality 
3. Recognition-The hero recognises the disruption 
4. Complications-The hero meets problems in trying to restore the the equilibruim 
5. New Equlibrium-The hero restores a new state of normality 

Our trailer conforms to this idea because at the beginning of the trailer, everything appears normal with a couple in love, the brother is then introduced and disrupts the normality, the younger brother sees the abuse the girl is experiencing by his older brother, he tries to help the girl and falls in love with her. 

Talent sourcing

When it came to casting for our trailer, we had a very clear vision on what we wanted our characters to be like and the look we wanted. However, preferably, we needed our cast to be people we knew so they were reliable when it came to our multiple filming sessions. Therefore, we chose Jordan (someone in our group) to portray the character of George. We asked a boy we knew called Jack to portray the character of Archie. This was because he had the right look we were looking for, he was the right age and he also had acting experience. For the character of Robbie,  we used someone from our school who studied Theatre Studies at A-Level and also had external acting experience. He also had the right look for what we visioned.
